And We're Off....

Inspired by recent activities, I've started work on a new solo album (in the grand tradition of Comedy Of Errors, the picture to the left is a snippet from the cover art).

I've decided this one will be very much a prog album rather than "It Can't Rain All The Time" which was a combination of prog and straight forward rock. The title of the new album is to be "The Girl With The Red Umbrella" - hence the snippet. Already 4 tracks have been written with lyrics for about a further 4 done and awaiting music.

Looking forward to this as I'm going to explore as many of the instruments I have to hand and will call on the services of good friends to help out with bits I can't do.

Deeply Honoured

For me this is big news! I have just recently been asked by Hugh Carter to play a part in his Glen Briel project as the support act to Abel Ganz at their album launch on 15th August along with the incredibly talented Pippa Reid-Foster.

Hugh and I go back many years (Mackie / Carter relationship even longer via Gordon) and I both respect him as a musician and value him as a friend. That's what makes the Glen Briel invitation so much of an honour.

I'll not be giving away any of the details of material (1) because Shug's still working on it and (2) because I wouldn't want to spoil the suprise. Looks like my Frankenstien Peavey / Roland GR20 guitar synth may be the order of the day....

Excited? Just a tad!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho....

It's a holiday Jim, but not as we know it...

First time ever for us we had a few days camping at Baxby Manor in North Yorkshire (http://www.thehideawayatbaxbymanor.co.uk). Success? well, suffice to say I bought a new, bigger tent on return!

More details in my Blog....
